Triple Spring Studios

Triple Spring Studios is a multi-media teaching studio west of Chapel Hill, NC.

You can browse our calendar, check out current offerings, or reach out to discuss possibilities for personalized lessons. We host free Handicraft Hangout events, which you can learn more about here.

Triple Spring Studios is operated by Sadie Rapp, and guest instructors share their knowledge and skills here as well. Our open-to-the-public offerings are designed for adults (age 16+), but younger folks are able to participate in Handicraft Hangouts and private classes (see details below). Sign up for Sadie’s Newsletter and follow us on Instagram or Facebook to be in the loop about upcoming workshops and events!

We want to make creative activities feel approachable.

We don’t have to see ourselves as “artists” in order to practice art skills. Learning creative processes allows you to be expressive in new ways, and changes the world around you. Taking a class on how to make a ceramic mug can deepen your relationship with every mug you ever hold. Being able to engage in artsy or crafty activities can be a treat for your soul, and a way to add texture to your days.

What do you want to learn?

Maybe we can help facilitate. Please reach out at triplespringstudios@gmail.com to schedule private classes or suggest future workshop topics. We offer classes in 2D techniques (printmaking, drawing), ceramics, metals, wood, fibers, and upcycling trash. Private workshops make for excellent adult birthday parties, family activities, and more. We can also assist with personal craft projects one-on-one if you want personalized guidance.

We could… invite your siblings to come make cutting boards together, or host a tiny pot decorating party for your birthday, or teach you and your sweetie a new craft skill together, or work one-on-one to make the bedside table of your dreams. The possibilities are broad - let us know what you’re thinking.

Accessibility:

The “classroom” is a paved covered porch with fans, tables, and chairs. It’s at the end of a gravel driveway. If weather doesn’t cooperate with us being out there, we will be indoors the studio or main house fully masked. Entering the interior shop space (like for using the sink with hot water) requires one step. The bathroom is inside the main house, also on the gravel driveway, and requires a few steps and wearing a mask.

We often will have music playing in the background. If you’d like to play your own or would rather not have music, just let us know.

If you have any questions about accessibility, please send us an email. We want to accommodate your needs.
