Sliding Scale

Pricing Options

The whole “sliding Scale” thing

Most of the workshops are priced on a sliding scale. The highest price point reflects the total cost of the class, which accounts for materials, preparation time, payment for the instruction and use of the studio, etc. This is likely what the class would cost without sliding scale options. The lowest price point reflects what the class might cost if the instructor charged the lowest rates for their time and effort. This range allows folks to adjust how much they are paying for the class, so it’s in-line with what they can afford at the moment. The idea is that if those who can do so pay full price, the instructor will still be fairly compensated for their work even if some students pay a lower tuition.
